Yes, it’s true. I have been MIA for the past couple month… social media, what?!?! All this busyness is soon to slow down (just a bit). I got engaged January 12, 2013 (on my birthday)! Jason and I decided to opt for a short engagement, allowing all our Atlanta wedding friends and vendors to be part of our special day before they are booked for the year. It has been one of the craziest seasons of life, and we are blown away with the generosity shown… truly blessed!! Can you believe it, next week I will become a MRS!! I will be back mid-April in full force. Until then…

Yes,  I thought what better time to make a slow blogging comeback than on Valentine’s Day?!? I have had lots of wonderful distractions over the past few months and I can’t wait to share…

I have always, always loved this special day… even thought this will be my FIRST year having a Valentine’s!! Well, we can’t spent it together, but I know he has my heart! I usually spend the day dressed in a festive outfit and hang out with girlfriends… and that’s exactly what this “Oh Lovely” party was about- celebrating love, friendship and having a good ol’ time! You can check out more images from this week’s features on 100 Layer Cake and the Huffington Post.

Yes, I have been quite quiet over here for the past few months… for many reasons. I do have to say it was refreshing to just live not feel the need/responsibility to blog “x” amount of times a week. Granted, this defeated the purpose of a gaining “following” but I’m perfectly okay with that. Last year I spread myself thin… lots of new ventures, new relationships, and new opportunities through Julia’s Poppies, Yours is the Earth and Homespun ATL. Exciting, exciting stuff, but change and honing is now needed. Practicing discipline, and being protective of those priorities I value in life are on the forefront of my mind.

It’s true that a new year doesn’t bring instant change (even though I always seem to convince myself it does!). However, it is a great time to hit refresh. This morning I was reminded that each day is a fresh start, full of new mercy, blessings, and gifts. The circumstances may not change from day-to-day, but thankfully the hope I cling to is eternal and not temporal.

I’m so grateful for what is on my plate, though some courses are easier to pallet than others. As a friend reminded me,

It tastes so much sweeter when we know it is intended for us, and for a purpose.
